Is Using HCG For Weight Loss Really Effective?

For some reason there are people out there who seem to think that the HCG Diet is simply too good to be true.

However, I think that these people just don't understand how the diet actually works - If you really want to know if using HCG for weight loss is effective, you first need to understand the concept behind the diet.

How The HCG Diet Helps You To Lose Weight...

When a certain amount of HCG is taken, which is anywhere from 125IU to 200 IU, your body responds to the hormone in an amazing way - It starts taking fat from your abnormal fat reserves and burns it for energy.

Because when you are eating such a small number of calories your body looks around to get fat from somewhere else in your body. Normally it turns to the lean muscle for the supply that it needs to keep you going.

This is where the HCG Hormone comes in - What it does is it tells your body to burn the fat from your abnormal fat reserves rather than your lean muscle tissue. This is why you can eat only 500 Calories a day and still keep your muscle mass.

How Many Calories Do You Burn On The HCG Diet?

The average person who is not dieting, will burn around 2,500 to 3,000 calories per day. However, these numbers remain the same when you're using the HCG Weight Loss Diet as well - This is what makes it possible for people to lose so much weight; anywhere from one half up to two pounds per day to be exact.

But still, some people say that the HCG Diet is nothing more than another starvation diet. Realistically though, there is really no way that a person could lose upwards of 50 pounds in a single month by starving themselves.

And here's why...

On a starvation diet, the human body will stop burning calories in an attempt to hold on to any fat that you have because it thinks that you are in danger of starving. And although Phase 2 of the HCG Diet has you eating only 500 calories per day, it's not a starvation diet. Your body is still able to burn the calories that it needs for energy from your fat that is stored in your reserves.

This is why the Gorge Days or Load Days as they are sometimes called, are such an important part of the diet - In the beginning when you load up on all of those calories you are filling up little fat reserves that are located all throughout your body. Then, when it needs to, your body can burn the right kind of fat which in turn helps you lose weight.

As you can see, the HCG Hormone is very effective when it's coupled with a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD). But make no mistake about it, this is a long term diet and it needs to be followed throughout your entire life in order to maintain your weight loss. Don't let the word LIFE scare you though - Because if you do things right and follow the protocol, keeping the weight off is not such a hard thing to do.

So if you ask me... I say yes, using the HCG Diet for weight loss is very effective indeed.
