HCG Diet Steak Day

  • Are you wondering how to do an HCG Diet Steak Day?

    In yesterdays post, "What To Do After The HCG Injections Stop" we talked about the goal of the Maintenance Phase - Which of coarse is to stay within 2 pounds of what you weighed on your last injection day, or on the last day of taking your HCG Drops or Pellets.

    HCG Diet Steak DayIf you were to go more than 2 pounds over your ending weight, you could do an HCG Diet Steak Day. For me, doing one of these isn't a big deal - But that's probably because of the simple fact that I love steak.

    How To Do An HCG Diet Steak Day...

    • When you perform a Steak Day during the Maintenance Phase of the HCG Diet, you will skip your Breakfast and Lunch.
       
    • Drink lots of water throughout the day.
       
    • Eat a Huge Steak for dinner.
       
    • You can have an Apple or Raw Tomato with your steak.

    Remember - the Maintenance Phase of the HCG Diet is NOT the Atkins Diet! Although there are a few similarities, with this diet your are able to eat most fruit and vegetables. Plus, you are not encouraged to eat foods that are high in fat.

    The Maintenance Phase which is also known as Phase 3 - is designed to help train your body how to maintain your new weight by eating healthier. It will also help you to look and feel better too.

    I did a steak day while on maintanence and sure enough lost exactly what I had gained. (2 lbs). I'm glad to learn that you can do this ANY time you gain 2 or more pounds. It's not a difficult day at all, and it does work. Yay!!

    Hi All,

    I originally did a steak day when I went over 2lbs. This worked exactly as promised. However, at some point when I couldn't weigh in, I must've gone over and then when I tried to do a steak day it didn't work. I'm now 3.8 lbs over my ldw. In the past two weeks I was walking everyday between 2.50 to 2.85 miles every day. I only managed to drop back to 125 something. Can some one help.

    Okay I'm having a dilemna. I am on Phase IV day 18. LIW 172.8 at the end of Phase III I was hitting 174.4 (had higher days and did probably 2 steak days during the 3 week stabilization) Now on the lifetime phase, I have done 3 (or 4?) steak days and they only took me down 1 to 1.5lbs. Currently the past 2 days I'm hitting 177?! I'm trying not to go insane with this, but I am not understanding my gains. I am working out 4-5 days a week even...what do I do now?

    Hey Anonymous,

    I think the most important thing to do on the Maintenance and Life Phases is, portion control. Even if you are eating healthy and using all of the right foods, you can still gain weight if you are not mindful of your portions. So just be aware of that.

    I would also strongly recommend doing a colon cleanse. I am doing one right now and it has actually helped to shrink my waist - and I even dropped a few extra pounds too.

    So try applying those 2 tips and hopefully that might help. You should also join the HCG Diet 411 Forum - Everyone there is using the HCG diet, has used it, or is about to use it. My wife and I are also there everyday too. So there is a lot of good help available to our members. The best part about it is that it's totally free. So go become a member.

    I've done several steak days after losing 70 with hcg in a little over 6 months. Steak days work really well. I have never lost less than 2 pounds and have lost a little over 4 twice! I lose better when I have the larger, fattier steaks. I use prime rib. Yum :)

    I typically use the tomato, but I plan one for today and am out. I do have some apple slices in the freezer but was wondering if I could just skip the apply/tomato part?

    That's amazing - It sounds like you've been doing great with the HCG Diet.

    Yeah - you can just go ahead and skip the tomato part of the Steak Day if you'd like. The Apple or Tomato, is just something that you are allowed to have. Unlike the steak, the apple/tomato is optional.

    Hello,

    I am still in P2, but am trying to do as much research about P3 as I can so that I can be as prepared as possible so I know how to handle anything that comes my way.

    What I am curious about is the 2 lb. spike or drop. I understand, as stated in "Pounds & Inches" and many other places that you are to eat a steak if you go OVER 2 lbs., but what are you supposed to do if you go UNDER 2 lbs.???

    Upon drawing my own conclusions, I can only assume that you would try to take in a huge amount of protein that same day after weighing in that morning? From what Dr. Simeons says, losing could also be bad news for your body for many reasons like water retention, and protein deficiency... which could all make you gain.

    So I guess my question is, what exactly should be consumed if you go below 2 lbs of your last HCG weight?

    Hi Stephanie,

    I wouldn't worry too much about that one. If this happens, just continue eating normally. Just be sure to watch your portions.

    But if you drop a lot of weight fast, (10 pounds) then you should up your protein intake. If you are eating right, you might drop a little bit more weight - That would be okay.

    K. This is what happen yesterday. I ate something bad the day before yesterday so my weight went up a 1 and a half. So I was angry and felt depress all day. But I except it did a steak day yesterday , it was Hell, I was so hungry but I keep dreaming about that big steak I'm gonna go home and eat. Well just now I weight myself 1/9/2011 and I lost 5 lbs I couldn't believe it. So I'm excited and I will behave from now on. Thank you god.

    Hi Calcia,

    That is awesome - Congratulations on the weight loss.

    But usually, you wouldn't want to do a Steak Day when you gain just 1 pound. That's because it's normal to be within a pound of your last injection weight, whether it's above or below. So next time just wait until you are at least 2 pounds over your ending weight.

    Either way, I am sure that you don't regret doing it now, especially after dropping 5 pounds... Which is pretty cool.

    No, it's normal to fluctuate a little bit. But keep watching it everyday and if you go over the 2 pound mark you should then do a steak day.

    It may help you if you haven't been losing, depending on how big the steak is.

    But if you are trying to jump start your weight loss, an apple day might work a little bit better.

    Is that why you were wanting to do a steak day on the VLCD?

    No, don't want to do a steak day, just was curious to know what the results would be.
    I've been doing the diet now since the end of September with a starting weight of 340 lbs and this morning when I weighed in this morning I was at 285 lbs. I feel great and it's been the best thing that I could have ever done for my health.

    Hello! So I am freaking out. I started maintenance 9 days ago and it is now Thursday and I have had to do a steak day Sunday, Tuesday and now today! I eat 1,500 to 1,700 calories a day and I have cut out almost all dairy, thinking that may be the issue and pretty much eating foods from the VLCD stage and added fats like Olive Oil, Butter and salad dressing to help my increase calories. I feel like I am in a terrible cycle and don't know what I am doing wrong. Please help!

    Hi -Need to do a steak day tomorrow. I have read that you continue with the water you normally drink. I drink 7 liters a day this includes about 4 cups of warm green tea. On the steak day can I have my tea? Thank you.

I was wavering on doing a steak day (was up 2 pounds) and I stuck it out (o: Was down pounds today and within 4 ounces of my maintaining weight!! YAY!     HI.... I gained 3 pounds in a day after I did an apple day and 9 pounds came off, so I dollowed the diet then the next day I gained 3 pounds.. What do I do now??

    Hi, today I have to have my first steak day. Doesn't surprise me, because I know what I did that I shouldn't have. How big is a huge steak? I read elsewhere that you should eat a 24-32 oz steak! Is that true?! That is huge in my book, not sure I could eat that much. Let me know!

    Its great to drink plenty of water yes, but 7 litres is WAY TOO MUCH. You shouldn't be telling people to drink that much water or that it is safe, because as a medical professional, I can say its DANGEROUS. it can cause something called water intoxification.Drinking too much water can lead to a condition known as water intoxication and to a related problem resulting from the dilution of sodium in the body, hyponatremia. As a general guideline, most adults need about three quarts of fluid each day. Much of that water comes from food, so 8-12 eight ounce glasses a day is a common recommended intake.

    HELP... i dont know what im doing wrong. I did the hcg diet lost just shy 30 lbs. Did my first day of maintenence, and actually got pretty sick. Very bad cramps and Diarrhea and didnt lose anyweight... Yesterday morning (3 days into maintenence) i weighted 199lbs 2lbs over. I did my steak day and GAINED .8lbs.

    I am following the maintenence, drinking my water.... im not sure what i am doing wrong. im terrified to get up over the 200lbs again.... swore id never get over that mark again... please help

    Hi Brian,

    I've been on Phase 3 for 6 days now, and every 2nd day (day 2,4 and today, 6) have been steak days!

    On the first day I thought it was water-so i kept drinking water. Next I thought I ate too little, and yesterday I ate loads (as i tried to eat 1,500 cals, previous days were up to 1,000) but i still have to do steak day!

    Am so thoroughly confused. I don't want to have to fast aevery other day for the next 18 days!

    Please help!

    I gained about 3lbs three days ago and immediately did a steak day, I only lost about 1lbs. Is it ok to do another steak day (I ate normally yesterday) today? I have heard doing two steak days in a row can be counterproductive.

    My first day on maintenance I had cheese and eggs and had the same problem with cramps and diarreah. I think it's just my body getting reacquainted with eggs and dairy. I was back to normal by the next day.

    I have been on stabilization and in 4 days I am already 5 pounds above my LIW.
    I did a steak day after gaining 3 pounds and the steK day I gained 1.8 pounds. Today I am trying an egg day. I am not cheating and drank more water but feeling rather upset. How can I gain 5 pounds and steak day did not work?

    Hi I am on phase 3 and 3rd day in and gained 3 pounds my last weight was 216 and lost additional 3 pounds with the hcg Washout period but I am doing a steak day don't really like them but I sure hope this helps I never cheated but I know this is the 3 week period no sugar and starches but the list of 100 new foods you now can have is kinda of contradict because milk has sugar and some meat has sugar so if it has a gram .or more just don't eat it I lost 34 pounds and 24 inches this is my first round

    Hi Brian,
    I hope you can help, I am on phase 3, went up 2.5 pounds, did a
    Steak day, went down 2 pounds, but am still about 1 pound over my base weight
    Is there anything additional I should do to get the extra pound off? I am nervous about doing another steak day as I felt rather low energy during the day, and this would not be ideal during a work day.. Any advice would be brilliant

    I have been on the maintenance phase for 8 weeks. I have done 3 steak and apple days. I was worried about not eating all day as I get low blood sugar. I have a small apple for breakfast and one for lunch, then a large steak for dinner. I loose between 2.8 to 5 pounds each time.

    I have lost 11 lbs. in 11 days on phase 2 of the hcg diet, but today (day 12) I woke up and have gaining an alarming 5 lbs!! Can I do a steak day in phase 2? I'm not sure, but I think I may be starting my period (about a week early), but I don't think I could be retaining 5 lbs of water (at least I don't feel like I am). Please help!!

    I weighed myself first thing in the morning and was disappointed to see I went over my 2 pound mark by a few ounces. I went back to bed and got up about an hour later and stepped on the scale again. I was back under the 2 pound mark. Should I still do a steak day?

    I am on hcg diet since January 15, 2012 and lost 11 pounds. I lost most of the weight during the first 8 days. After the 8 days, I had to do two apple days and lost one pound only each time. I still need to lose 7 more pounds. I wonder if I can extend phase II for another seven days? Can I do a steak day?

    Before starting the Hcg diet, I was following a 1000 calories a day diet. I lost 1 pound during the first week, got it back and never lost one once! During the 1000 calories diet, I learned that it is not only the number of calories intake, but also what you eat during a meal and during a day. I used to eat lots of things at one meal such as e.g., hummus 1 tbs, whole wheat bread 1/2 slice, meat about 50g with some sauce, 1 fruit, poetatos about one spoon. The total calories intake wasn't large but I assume the combination of many different things at once weren't too good for weight control.

    Ok so before my last day of hcg drops I ate things I shouldnt have eaten its been three days since my last drops ive gained 3lbs...will the steak day realywork. I was told 2eggs in the am and a 7oz steak for lunch and dinner. After reading the comments on here I see just a large steak for dinner which one is it????

    Saturday was my daughters first birthday and i cheated a little with some cake and cookies. I am in my second week of P3. The following day i had gained 2.4 pounds so I immediately did a steak day. So this morning when I weighed in I found I had lost nothing. not an ounce. HELP!!! I also started menstruating yesterday. Would this be the cause? what do I do??

    I had great success on my first round of hcg and lost 30 lbs. I then maintained the weight and started round two nine weeks later. I lost 10 more lbs but started cheating after about 10 days into it. I could then never get back on the diet. After another 10 days of cheating every day I figured I was wasting my money and stopped taking the hcg. Now two weeks later I have gained back all of the 10 lbs I lost in round two. What do you suggest I do now? Should I do a steak day, an apple day or something different? I know I can't start the hcg again for another 4 weeks so I am not sure what to do. All of my pre hcg cravings are back and don't want to regain the 30 lbs I lost in round one. Thanks for your suggestions.

    On my last injection i weighed in at 134.4 but did a steak day because i had gained 1 lb. The next three days i was constant at 131.2lbs. The first day of phas 3 i weighed in at 132.2 lbs and today i weighed in at 133.0 lbs. Should indo a steak day?

    I'm on day 38 on p2. I had diet coke and cinnamon sugar free gum and am now up two pds! It's very discouraging. I was having a bad day and read that it's okay to have b/c Dr. S wrote his diet yrs ago so it just hadnt been updated. Really? Two pounds? Also, when can I do a egg or steak day, is that in p3? When in that phase, I only eat 800-1000 cal. a day right but only from a strict food list? Can I have cheese, sugar free items, diet soda? Also, could I be using to much salt or spices or lemon juice when cooking, cause I'm only down 21 pds. Well, now only 19 b/c of diet soda I am guessing. Thanks!

    I stuck to the steak day instructions scrupulously and ate a 15 oz t bone steak and 1 -2 hours later had a raw tomato with only salt and pepper on both the next morning my weight was down 5 1/2 lbs and now for 2 days i will avoid nuts and cheese just wanted to post this because it definitely works!

    I have been on phase 3 for 6 days now and have introduced things slowly like the protocol said, and I've went over 4 pounds I didn't know about the steak day is it too late to do that even after gaining four pounds??? Some say your weight will fluctuate and not to worry about that until 2 weeks in??? In so scared cause I lost over 30 lbs in phase 2

    I am at stage 4 introducing sugars and starches into my diet but it's making me a bit crazy and I'm constantly battling with makin the right choice!i still have a little bit more to lose, can I just start from scratch again before I finish the consolidation, or do I have to stick it out then repeat the plan?

    I'm still gettin the shots I didn't know I couldn't eat anything but a steak and a tomatoe or an apple. I ate a couple of strawberries n I ate a steak broccoli an apple idk what to do will I gain? The reason I did it was because I haven't lost anything in 2 weeks n these is my last wk of shots I'm terrified that since I did it wrong I might gain :( help pls

    To the person who said it was good to drink 7 liters if water a day is very wrong! DO NOT DRINK THAT MUCH WATER! Thank you to the person who corrected that. I was very worried about my liver because I take pain meds and so I was worried with the amount of fat being processed by my liver so I was drinking about 5 liters a day.I thought I was helping myself...WRONG!! When I had bloodwork done to see if I was ok to continue from 23 to 40 days, my labs came back with extremely low sodium. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND CAN BE FATAL! Drink what your supposed to but do not drink too much......who would've thought you could overdose on water? Not me...but you can and as I said, it can be fatal! Google hyponatremia and you can see for yourself! I seriously don't know why this is not mentioned more often in this diet!

    I haven't lost any weight since the previous day should I do an apple day or steak day? (My mother says steak day is what I should do but I am confused)

    After first round of HCG, I just need to lose 5 more lbs to reach my goal weight. I did a steak day and it worked so well I lost lost three and a half pounds. Can I use another steak day to lose the extra pounds and avoid doing another round of HCG?
