What the Hypothalamus Gland does and why it's so important to fix it... The Hypothalamus Gland is located directly below the Thalamus which is at the center of the brain. It controls many automatic functions of the human body. So this means that it can tell the autonomic nervous system what to do. The Hypothalamus also controls pituitary output by distributing certain chemicals to the pituitary's frontal lobe. To put it more simply, the Hypothalamus Gland organizes and controls many complex emotions, feelings and moods.
