Feeling Overly Emotional On The HCG Diet?
Are You Feeling A Bit More Emotional Since Starting The HCG Diet?
For some people a lot of things can change while taking the HCG Hormone. Not just
physical changes, but your energy level and moods as well. Also, the more rounds of the diet that you do can make the changes become more apparent.
One major thing that I've noticed since Suzy began her fourth round of the HCG Diet, approximately 1 week ago, is that she has been overly emotional and stressed out ... One day she is as sweet as can be, then the next she acts like she literally wants to kill me. And although she's had mood swings during the other three rounds, it has never been this obvious.
The good news is she does recognize that her emotions are a little out of control mainly because of the diet, and not anything that I'm doing specifically.
But is it normal to be overly sensitive and emotional while on the HCG Diet?
Sure it is ... after all you are introducing a hormone into your body that mimics pregnancy; and we all know how emotional women are during pregnancy.
So if you are experiencing a wave of different emotions everyday, you're not alone. The real trick here is to recognize why you are feeling the way you are feeling, then try to regulate it - I know, easier said than done. But hopefully the 3 tips below will help.
3 Tips To Help You Control Your Emotions During The HCG Diet:
1. Get More Sleep: Even when you're not dieting, lack of sleep can cause you to be overly emotional. So be sure to get enough sleep so that you don't add to your already erratic emotional state. Not getting enough sleep can actually cause you to plateau as well. Getting more sleep might also help you to have a bit more energy too.
2. Miracle Noodles: Hunger can play a big role in your emotional state. Eating miracle noodles will keep you feeling full. Plus it's a free food so there's no guilt or risk of having a stall in your weight loss.
3. Self-Talk: Remember, when you do start feeling over emotional or stressed out, it can be largely attributed to the HCG Hormone and the 500 Calorie Diet - So simply try some self-talk to remind yourself that it's the diet that is making you feel this way.
With this in mind, it's probably not a good idea to make any sort of drastic life decisions - Such as ending a relationship, buying or selling property, or anything else that might normally have emotions involved in your decision making.

B12 For The HCG Diet
Hopefully We've Found Another Way To Make The HCG Diet More Effective!
Well it's official, Suzy has now started her 4th and hopefully final round of the HCG Diet.
Once again she will be using HCG Injections to administer the HCG Hormone - Like I have stated before, HCG Shots are without question the most effective way to do the diet.
In the past, Suzy has done 3 previous rounds periodically over the coarse of the last 7 years.
But after the birth of our youngest child Jax, she has really struggled to get back down to her pre-pregnancy weight. I know that this is something that a lot of women have had issues with.
So as I usually do, I will be writing about her HCG Diet Journey. This means that I will be talking about her good days, bad days and everything in between. Even though Suzy doesn't always like me to talk about some of the issues that she might be experiencing, I think it is helpful for all of you to see first hand what people really go through on this diet.
Another benefit to following Suzy as she does the HCG Diet, is that every time she starts a new round she likes to try something that she hadn't done previously. For example, during her last round she did a third Gorge day rather than the traditional two.
This time she will be using B12 vitamin drops along with her HCG Shots. The drops are supposed to give you more energy, which is something that we could all use on this diet. It will be interesting to see how well they actually work.
So I hope all of you look forward to once again reading about her weight loss journey, I know that I look forward to writing about it.
In fact, some of our most popular and helpful posts in the past were the ones about Suzy's personal experiences the HCG diet - Like the one where we had went away for the weekend and ended up eating at a 5 star steakhouse. To make a long story short, the temptation proved to be too much and surprise surprise, she cheated on the 500 Calorie Diet. Although, it didn't have a great outcome, it was a great learning experience for her, and the message simple: If you cheat, don't give up - You can still go on to have a successful round.

With so many people experiencing success with the HCG Diet, it's no longer a secret that you can lose a ton of weight in just a short period of time.
But Exactly How Much Weight Can You Lose On The HCG Diet?
This is the Million Dollar question that's on everyone's mind. Now I'm sure most of you have heard that you will lose 1 pound per day with the HCG Diet - But how realistic is this claim, and is possible to lose even more?
The truth is not everyone will be able to lose 1 pound per day -- Actually there are many different factors that decide how much weight a person will lose from day to day on the HCG Diet.
For example, a person that has 100 pounds to lose will likely experience a higher rate of weight loss, compared to someone who only has 30 pounds to lose.

But when all is said and done, your weight loss should average out to be approximately 1 pound per day for most people. However, it is possible to lose upwards of 40 pounds during a 23 day round.
Needless to say, if you are unable to hit your target weight with a 23 of 40 day round and plan on doing another, be sure to wait the proper amount of time before starting the next round of the HCG Diet.
Tips for a successful round:
Doing these things are important if you want to increase your chances of weight loss success.
But keep in mind, no matter how much weight you lose it doesn't mean a thing if you don't take the steps to keep it off.

A One-of-a-Kind HCG Diet Meal Plan
Here Is An Entire Day Of HCG Meals All Planned Out For Your Convenience!
This HCG Diet Menu Includes Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and even Dessert -- Not only does it tell you what to eat, but how to prepare it.However, you should keep in mind that there are few different Protocols for the HCG diet -- And although the end results are pretty much the same, the directions that the protocols have you follow are not.
For example, the Protocol that I commonly reference does not recommend that you eat breakfast in the mornings; aside from coffee that is.
So before you use all of the recipes below, make sure to find out if it works with the HCG Protocol that you are currently following.
If you are using the original Protocol written by Dr. Simmons, you should skip the breakfast part of this HCG Sample Day.
Of coarse if you do feel that this does not fit the protocol that you use, these recipes could always be prepared during Phase 3.
Either way, we have one of our wonderful HCG Forum Members, Shawna, to thank for this delicious group of HCG Recipes that give you a great example of what a gourmet day can look like during Phase 2, aka The 500 Calorie Diet.
"I just saw these recipes and made the Tarragon Breaded Chicken Breast for dinner tonight. I used Rosemary instead of Tarragon because I did not have Tarragon on hand. The Rosemary was wonderful! I am going to use this recipe quite often because it tasted so good to me after eating plain fish, beef and chicken all week!"
Chef Donatella Arpaia’s HCG Recipes
Breakfast:
Roasted Cherry Tomato, Basil & Ham Egg White Omelette (110 calories)
Ingredients
Makes 1 serving
1 cup chopped oven roasted cherry tomatoes (2 cups uncooked)
1/4 cup fresh basil (cut into long, thick strips)
Sea salt and pepper
3 egg whites
1/4 cup skim milk
Whisk until very fluffy (lots of volume)
Chopped slice of Canadian ham
Directions:
Take 2 cups of cherry tomatoes, slice in half and place on baking sheet. Spray with olive oil and add salt, freshly ground pepper and about half of the basil. Let roast for 30 minutes until nicely caramelized. Spray pan with olive oil, add ham and let brown for 30 seconds. Whisk egg whites with milk. Add whipped egg whites and cook on low heat. Add remaining basil, salt and pepper. Top with roasted tomatoes.
Lunch:
Baked Coconut Shrimp With Spicy Apricot Dipping Sauce (110 calories)
Ingredients
Makes 1 serving
Coconut Shrimp:
1/4 cup unsweetened large coconut flakes
3/4 cup panko breadcrumbs (look for Ian's All-Natural Whole-Wheat)
3 egg whites
1-2 tsp coconut extract
8 oz large shrimp, peeled and de-veined
Sea salt and pepper
Directions for Shrimp:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread coconut over baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake 7 minutes until golden. Place 3 tablespoons coconut into food processor; pulse until finely chopped, then in a small bowl, combine it with panko. Raise oven to 450°F; place wire rack on baking sheet and set aside. Place flour in shallow dish, and in medium bowl, whip egg whites until extremely foamy. Whisk in coconut extract. Dredge shrimp in flour then dip in egg white, then in crumb mixture to coat completely. Place shrimp on rack. Season generously with salt and pepper. Bake until golden about 8 minutes. Top with remaining coconut.
Dipping Sauce:
1/2 cup apricot preserves (sugar free)
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
3/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
Directions for Dipping Sauce
Whisk all ingredients together and serve on the side.
Serve with a few florets of steamed broccoli.
Dinner:
Tarragon Breaded Chicken Breast (249 Calories) With Cauliflower Mash (47 Calories)
Ingredients
Makes 1 serving
Chicken:
4 oz chicken breast
Egg-white wash
2 tbsp Crushed Melba toast)
2 full tbsp chopped fresh tarragon ( I used less than 1 T. Rosemary)
1 tbsp Parmesan cheese ( I used 2 T Kraft Parm)
1/2 cup roasted cherry tomatoes (see recipe from omelette)
Directions for Chicken:
Dip chicken into egg white. Combine tarragon, panko and grated cheese in bowl and mix well. Coat chicken with bread crumb mixture. Broil chicken at high heat until thoroughly cooked. Top with cherry tomatoes.
Cauliflower Mash:
2 tbsp non-fat Greek yogurt
Butter flavoring (I used I cant believe its not butter spray)
Large head of cauliflower (I used frozen cauliflower that I steamed in a covered dish in microwave)
1/4 cup skim milk (I used 2-3 T. fat free half and half)
1 tbsp Parmesan
Sea salt and pepper
Directions for Cauliflower Mash:
Steam the cauliflower and place in bowl with milk. Add all of the above ingredients and whip until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Pumpkin Mousse With Coconut Whip Cream: (90 calories)
Ingredients
Makes 6 servings
Pumpkin Mousse
1 can 100% pumpkin
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp ground chia seeds (blend in a coffee grinder or food processor)
Directions for Pumpkin Mousse:
Blend all ingredients together.
Coconut Whipped Cream:
1 can coconut milk (or unsweetened dairy-free milk)
1 tbsp xylitol sweetener
Directions for Coconut Whip Cream:
Chill can of coconut milk overnight. Drain off excess clear liquid and whip. Add sweetener if preferred.
Assembly
Layer mousse and whip cream in bowls or martini glasses, ending with a dollop of whipped cream on top.

Does HCG Diet Lingo Sound Like A Foreign Language To You?
If you've ever heard people talk about the HCG Diet, had a conversation via Facebook, on Twitter or in an HCG Forum, and found yourself feeling lost because of the terms and Phrases being thrown around, don't worry you're not alone.

Actually to be honest, when I first started using HCG I would hear people using certain terminology in reference to the HCG Diet, and I would have to ask my wife what the heck they were talking about.
However, if it wasn't for my inquisitive nature in relation to this diet, we probably wouldn't have this wonderful HCG Blog that you see today.
But before I get too carried away about how great I am, let's talk about a few of the more common HCG Phrases and the definitions behind them.

Fat Release: The term Fat Release is referring to the HCG Hormone causing the stored fat in your body to be released - This in turn is why you lose so much weight. Simply put, after the fat is released, your body can then burn it in place of the calories that you would normally eat during a regular day. This is also the reason that your body does not go into starvation mode when using the HCG Hormone. Without the hormone, your body tries to hoard the small amount of calories that are consuming in order to keep you alive - It would then resort to burning muscle mass. This is why HCG is such an important part of the diet.
Plateau: When you hear someone talking about a Plateau on the HCG Diet, they are not usually talking about an elevated level part of the land. Actually a diet Plateau, is when you have been consistently losing weight, usually on a daily basis, then it abruptly stops for 2 or more days. The good news is that you can almost always get yourself losing weight and back on track with an Apple Day or one of the other many Plateau Breakers.
VLCD: Now this is one phrase that is very commonly used by HCG Diet users. Actually, VLCD are simply initials that stand for Very Low Calorie Diet. VLCD is used in reference to the 500 Calorie Diet.

As usual the annual Academy Award Ceremony has created quite a bit of buzz on the World Wide Web -- From Facebook to Twitter, it seems to be the main topic of conversation lately.
So today I thought that we would go ahead and follow suit. However, instead of talking about the traditional categories like "Best Actor" or "Best Picture", I decided that we would hand out an award in a category that we call "The Hardest Part Of Doing The HCG Diet".
Now as you can imagine, it was very difficult to narrow it down to just five nominees -- There were just so many worthy candidates. However, in the end we could only nominate 5; rules are rules.
And The Nominees Are...
After looking over the list of nominees, some people might say that the hardest part of the HCG Diet is that you are only allowed to eat 500 Calories per day. But believe it or not, there is something even harder than cutting your daily food consumption down to less than 1/3 of what you are used to.
So What Is The Hardest Part About The HCG Diet?
Well, after careful consideration from the HCG 411 Academy, we have determined that the most difficult part of this diet seems to be keeping yourself 100% committed to following the HCG Protocol.
I think the main reason that this is so hard for people is because 90% of HCG Dieters don't properly prepare themselves the way they should.
The fact is, getting yourself mentally as well as physically prepared for the HCG Diet could double your chances of success. Not only that, but you will likely experience a higher rate of weight loss as well.
So the award goes to ... Sticking to the HCG Protocol
But how can you better prepare your body mentally and physically for the HCG Diet?

Are You Really Hungry, Or Just Bored?
These Things Should Help Keep You From Eating When You Are Bored During HCG Phase 3 Maintenance!
Have you ever had a day that you were so busy that you simply forgot to eat?
I personally have had this happen to me more than once. The weird part about it is, I don't even remember being hungry. It's like your mind keeps you so busy that you don't even have time to feel hungry.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could have days like that all of the time?!?
However, the scenario that is much more common is the one where you find yourself sitting at home with nothing to do, and for some strange reason you keep eating and eating regardless of whether you're hungry or not.
The truth is eating out of boredom is actually very common - And being able to tell the difference between being bored or hungry is really the only way to avoid it.
How to know if you are hungry or bored:
Pay attention to the last time you ate: If you get the urge to eat 30 minutes after you last ate, you are simply bored, not hungry.
Drink some water: If you drink a glass of water every time you have the urge to eat, you may feel less hungry afterward helping you to eat less often.
Try the vegetable test: Pick up a vegetable instead of chips or a snack -- If the vegetable is not appealing enough to eat, you are probably just bored.
What should you do if you find that you are bored and not hungry?
Stay busy: Try to occupy your mind with a craft or something that will keep you entertained until your next meal.
Exercise: This should keep you busy for awhile and possibly get you in a more healthy frame of mind.
Eat Miracle Noodles: This way you can get nice and full between meals without having to worry about the calories.
Remember, eating when you are bored, even on occasion, is definitely not a healthy habit to practice. So try some of these tips to help keep yourself from ruining the body that you have been working so hard to get.

For those of you that didn't already know, Suzy and I, along with our 3 children, live here in the beautiful state of Utah - And I have to say, it really is a wonderful place to raise a family.
Another thing that we really love about Utah is that we are privileged to experience all of the 4 seasons - And it just so happens that this year has been one of the warmest ever recorded.
However, you know what they say, "The hotter the summers, the colder the winters" and boy they weren't kidding. This winter we have had more nights below zero than I care to remember.
Of coarse with all of the cold days and nights comes the snow - And there has been no shortage of that either. In fact, just a couple of weeks ago, they actually had to cancel school because of all the snow. Unfortunately, I have had to drive in it quite a bit too ... This also means that I have been getting stuck almost every other day.
Now I am sure that you are all probably wondering what all of this has to do with the HCG Diet - Well the other day after I freed myself from being stuck yet again, I though to myself, being stuck in the snow is in a sense like being stuck on a Plateau.
I'm sure I don't have to tell you that a weight loss stall, aka Plateau, can be very frustrating -- Because much like being stuck in the snow, the more you try to quickly get yourself out, the worse off you will usually become.
But with a Plateau it's more psychologically frustrating than anything. However, like I have said before, the psychological part of the HCG Diet is just as important as any other part. Because if you are not in a positive frame of mind, you are only holding yourself back from reaching your full potential.
And as discouraging as it may be, having a little stall in your weight loss is actually a pretty common occurrence.
But still, as common as it is, most people think that once they have hit a Plateau they are doomed - Especially if they feel that they have caused the stall by cheating or otherwise not following the protocol completely.
Nothing could be farther from the truth! The fact is we are all human. This means that we break the rules from time to time. And although a small cheat isn't good, it happens to almost all of us. After all, you are trying to correct a lifetime of bad habits in one months time.
Common sense says you are bound to screw up at some point -- The hard part is forgiving yourself and moving past it. But if you hit a Plateau as a result of messing up, it can make it that much harder to move on. Because everyday that you are not losing ends up serving as reminder of what you did to cause it.
But what can be even more frustrating than that, is when you hit a stall in your weight loss and you have no idea what has caused it.
In either case it is helpful to keep a detailed journal of your HCG Weight Loss Journey - You can write about how much weight you lose each day, what you ate for your meals or even your frustrations with the diet.
So whether you are stuck in the snow, or stuck on a Plateau, there is always something you can do to dig yourself out. Most of the time a simple Apple Day will do the trick. And if for some reason that doesn't do it for you, there is still a long list of other Plateau Breakers to choose from.

Well today I have taken those ever so famous words and applied them to the HCG Diet for the purpose of this blog post.
Because when it comes to starting the HCG Diet, I think the real question that plagues people the most is...
To Inject, Or Not To Inject?
Ever since the diet was first created, decades ago, by Dr. A.T.W. Simmeons, people have been searching for alternative ways to get the HCG into their system without having to use a needle.
Whether it's a fear of needles, or just the simple fact that people don't like to stick themselves with sharp objects, most people would like to know that they have a choice in the matter.
But Are There Other Methods For Getting The HCG Into Your Body?
Yes, there are in fact a couple of other effective methods of taking the HCG Hormone.
1. You have Oral HCG Pellets, aka HCG Troches - Which simply put are little HCG Pills. And although this form of HCG has not been around for very long, they have quickly become a favorite for HCG Diet users. Of coarse, like with all forms of HCG, you have to be sure that you are ordering real HCG Troches, and not the "Homeopathic" version.
