  • What If You Cheat On The HCG Diet Just A Little Bit?

    Time and time again I hear people talking about how they recently cheated but that it wasn't a bad cheat, it was just a small snack.

    Unfortunately, it doesn't really matter how big the cheat was, it's still cheating.

    On the other hand, if a person cheats and feels so bad about it that they don't ever do it again, then I guess that's kind of a good thing.

    However, that is usually never the case -- For the most part once someone opens the door to cheating on the HCG Diet, they seem to get more and more comfortable doing it, to where it's almost a common thing.

    Then there are those people who actually think it's okay to cheat sometimes as long as it's just a little cheat.

    But if you think about it, a bunch of little cheats is basically the same thing as one big cheat.

    Now don't get me wrong here, I know how hard it can be for people on the HCG Diet, I've been there myself -- But rather than risk throwing all of your hard work right down the drain, consider using a free food like Miracle Noodles or Miracle Rice rather than some snack that can compromise your entire weight loss journey.

    Like I have said before, if you find yourself getting hungry in between meals, simply fix yourself a bowl of Miracle Rice or Noodles; they are really quite good and they fill you up too.

    So before you go telling yourself that it's okay to cheat if it's just a small amount, remember, all those little cheats can add up to one very big stall!

    Another HCG Diet Free Food

  • I've Got A Real Treat For All Of You Rice Lovers Out There!

    I don't know about you, but I'm a big fan of Free Foods for the HCG Diet. And although there are very few food items that are considered to be a free food, Miracle Noodles are by far the most popular.

    The Hormone Formerly Known As HCG

  • When HCG Gets Broken Down So Many Times Until There's Almost None Of It Left, Can You Still Really Call It HCG?

    Every once in a great while I come up with an idea for a funny way to introduce a topic for a blog post -- Well guess what, today is one of those days.

    Now I'm sure that all of you remember when Prince, the musician, changed his name to a symbol back in June 1993. But because the symbol was unpronounceable everybody was forced to refer to him as the artist formerly known as Prince.

    Well today I decided that everyone should start referring to Homeopathic HCG, or HHCG as some call it, as the hormone formerly known as HCG.

    Here's why -- Because basically homeopathic HCG is really nothing more than a microscopic amount of HCG mixed with water. So in other words, it's just a bottle of water.

    Here's the thing, if you dilute HCG so much to where there is almost no HCG left, you really can't call it HCG can you!

    On top of that, the FDA states that any product containing HCG, no matter how small the amount, it should not be labeled as a Homeopathic drug.

    So if the HHCG Drops don't contain enough HCG to be called HCG - And the FDA won't allow the HHCG Companies to call their product a Homeopathic Drug, then what are you supposed to call it? 

    That's right -- You call it the hormone formerly known as HCG!

    NOTE: Now even though this post was just me having a little fun, I do seriously recommend that people use Pharmaceutical HCG instead of the Homeopathic Stuff.

    Because even if the Homeopathic Drops, or the hormone formerly known as HCG as I now call it, do contain trace amounts of HCG, it's definitely not enough to do the job it is meant to do on this diet.

    Dr. Simeons says in his original HCG protocol, that you need a minimum of 125IU HCG for it to be effective.

    Does The Color Of Your Plate Really Help You Lose Weight?

    So is it true -- Can the color and size of your plate really make a difference when it comes to weight loss?

    Well, that's what some researchers are saying -- Studies have shown that the color of your plate can actually make food seem more enjoyable, taste better, and even make you feel like you have eaten more than you really have.

    One study, where volunteers received Strawberry Mousse on both a white and black plate, the participants said that the Mousse on the white plate was much sweeter and more enjoyable than the dessert on the black plate.

    And a Boston University study found that eating from a red plate could have you eating 25% more calories.

    So what color of plate should you be eating from?

    Studies have shown that serving your more colorful foods on a white plate will help you to eat much smaller portions.

    But keep in mind that the size of the plate can make a big difference too.

    For instance, a normal size serving on a smaller plate will seem like you are eating more because it looks like a bigger portion - Which in turn may trick your brain into thinking you are full.

    While the same size serving on a larger plate will have you thinking you are eating a much smaller portion.

    Now although this may not be an exact science, it can be very helpful to people during Phase 2 (500 Calorie Diet), Phase 3 (Maintenance), and even long after the HCG Diet ends.

    However, if you don't feel like going out and replacing all of your dishes don't worry, these days you can buy disposable plates in all sorts of different sizes and colors.

    So remember, try eating your more colorful foods on a small white plates -- This should help you to keep your portion sizes under control.

    Happy Easter Fellow HCG'ers

  • Did The Easter Bunny Come Hopping Through Your House This Year?

    Well it's Easter again - For most of us this means that the whole family will be gathering around the table to eat many of the different foods forbidden by the HCG Protocol.

    Of coarse this is usually after we wake up with our children to watch their eyes light up when they see a basket full of toys as well as a wide selection of delicious treats.

    Needless to say the Easter Holiday can be torture for those people on the HCG Low Cal Diet.

    For me personally, I find it next to impossible to resist the legendary Cadbury Creme Eggs. Although they make a few different flavors, I am still in love with the originals.

    I'm sure you know the ones I am talking about, they have an egg shaped chocolate shell with a gooey white and yellow creme center. They used to only make an appearance around the Easter Holiday -- However, I have been seeing them more and more throughout the year.

    But no matter what your temptation is, try to fight the urge to stray. Because we all know that one little cheat on the HCG Diet can lead to a stand still on the scale.

    So be sure to stay strong, and have a Happy Easter!!!

    HCG Food List

  • Grab Some Paper And A Pen Because We're About To Make An HCG Food List!

    Knowing which HCG Foods are okay to eat can mean the difference between succeeding and failing on this diet.

    And although we have talked about this time and time again, there still seems to be a lot of confusion when it comes to this particular topic.

    The problem is that with the overwhelming amount of false information that has been written for this diet, it's hard to know for sure which HCG foods are truly allowed.

    So today we're going to clear up this mystery once and for all.

    Which HCG Foods Are Okay To Eat?

    Now first of all just to be perfectly clear, the HCG Food list that I "mainly" go by is the one that you will find in Dr. Simeons original HCG Diet Protocol.

    However, the reason I use the term "mainly" is because that protocol was written quite a few years ago and some things have changed since then -- For example, we now have the wonderful and delicious Miracle Noodles that can be used as a free food.

    But for the most part I try to stick with the original HCG Diet Plan. So if you are like me and you want to stay as close as you possibly can to the original HCG Food List, then these are the items that you will want to have in your shopping cart.

    The HCG Diet Food List:

    For Breakfast:

    You may have as much tea or coffee as you'd like, which you can sweeten with Stevia - You may not use sugar. One Tablespoon of Milk is allowed as well.

    For Lunch and Dinner:

    Your options are of coarse the same for lunch and dinner. But it is suggested that you do not eat the same Protein and/or Vegetables for both meals.

    For your protein you may have 100 grams of:

    Beef
    Chicken Breast
    Crab
    Lobster
    Shrimp
    White Fish
    Veal

    For your fruit you may have:

    1/2 Grapefruit
    1 Apple
    1 Orange
    1 Handful of Strawberries

    For your vegetables you may choose one of the following:

    Asparagus
    Beet Greens
    Cabbage
    Chard
    Chicory
    Celery
    Cucumber
    Green Salad
    Fennel
    Onions
    Red Radishes
    Spinach
    Tomatoes

    With both lunch and dinner you may also have either one Grissini Bread-Stick or Melba Toast - Whichever you prefer.

    One thing you may not know is that you are allowed to use most seasonings on the HCG 500 Calorie Diet; with the exception of oil and butter, those of coarse may not be used at any time during Phase 2.

    And as I mentioned above, Miracle Noodles can be used as a free food -- This means you can eat them as a snack in between meals. Some people even like to use them in place of a meal during a plateau.

    Now you may have noticed that there are many different HCG Protocols out there -- But for the most part they have all used Dr. Simeons original HCG Diet Food List as a blueprint; which tells me that he had to be doing something right.

  • Most People Think That Losing Weight Is The Most Important Part Of The HCG Diet -- But Are They Right?

    It's no big secret that people cheat during the HCG Weight Loss Diet.

    Believe it or not, some people even lose weight with this diet while drinking diet soda and eating things that are prohibited by the HCG Protocol.

    However, just because someone loses weight does not mean that the diet was a success!

    I know that some of you are thinking that I'm nuts. But truthfully losing weight is really only the half of it - Keeping it from coming back by retraining your metabolism and resetting your Hypothalamus is the other half; some would even argue that it's maybe even more important than the weight loss itself.

    Because if you gain all of your weight back, then something went terribly wrong.

    Let's not forget that even though the HCG Diet was created to help people lose weight at a rapid pace, it was also designed to help you keep the weight off for good ...

    That's why it's called the cure for obesity, instead of the temporary fix for obesity.

    So if you do decide to drink soda or eat forbidden foods, you may unknowingly be sabotaging the diet and setting yourself up for failure in the long-run.

    And if you are still wondering what's more important than weight loss on the HCG Diet, it's keeping it off.

    So do yourself a favor, after working so hard to lose the weight, make sure you are working just as hard to keep it from coming back. Because in the end that is what will determine your success.

    The Biggest HCG Diet Danger Of All

  • This Is The One HCG Diet Danger That Nobody Wants To Experience!

    Between the different dangers and side effects of the HCG Diet, there are a lot of things to watch out for. In fact, if you recall we have covered most of them in various different blog posts.

    And as you may have guessed, there are different factors that put certain people at risk to experience each side effect or danger.

    However, there is one HCG Diet Danger that pretty much everyone is at risk for...

    Gaining your weight back after the diet ends!

    Now if I had to guess, I would say that this is one HCG Diet Danger that everyone of us thinks about. Just the thought of doing all of that work to lose the weight, to simply gain it all back makes most people cringe.

    However, unlike most of the other side effects of this diet, this particular HCG danger is completely 100% avoidable - It's really quite simple too.

    How To Avoid Gaining Back All Of Your Weight

    • Stick to the HCG Diet Protocol.
    • Don't Cheat.
    • Do all of Phase 3 (Maintenance)
    • Weigh yourself daily.
    • Use good portion control.
    • Stay away from fast food restaurants.
    • If you gain more than 2 pounds back, do a Steak Day right away.

    Doing these things can definitely help keep you from gaining back the weight that you had lost - But in the end it all comes down to you wanting to keep the weight off. Because if you aren't willing to work at it, there's really nothing that can stop you from gaining.

    So remember this, if you keep doing what you are doing, you'll keep getting what you've got. In other words, if you want to keep your weight off, then simply do what it takes to keep it from coming back.

    Vacationing During The Maintenance Phase Of The HCG Diet

  • Should You Vacation If You're On Phase 3 Of The HCG Diet?

    Vacationing during Phase 2 of the HCG Diet is almost never a good idea, and should be avoided if at all possible. It is just simply too difficult for a person to try and follow the strict 500 calorie protocol.

    Not to mention that most people are forced to eat out almost everyday while on vacation. Unfortunately, there are not too many other options, that is unless you have a place to cook your meals.

    But that's during the 500 Calorie Diet, what about the Maintenance Phase?

    Well, a vacation during Maintenance is not completely out of the question. However, I would try to wait until after you start introducing sugars and starches back into your diet. This would make things much less stressful for you and everyone you're vacationing with.

    Because even though this part of the diet is not as restricted, some argue that it is even more important than the weight loss itself; and to be completely honest, I don't totally disagree.

    Truthfully, the Maintenance Phase can help determine whether or not you keep the weight off. If you do it right, you may never have to diet again -- Do it wrong and you just might find yourself doing another round of the 500 Calorie Diet.

    Now if you do decide that you still want to vacation during the Maintenance Phase of the HCG Diet, here are a few things that might help you out.

    Vacationing During The Maintenance Phase Of The HCG Diet

    • Wait until after the first 3 weeks of the Maintenance Phase before going on vacation.
       
    • Don't eat a lot of sugars or starches.
       
    • Practice good portion control.
       
    • No going back for seconds.
       
    • Try to prepare your own meals when possible.
       
    • Be mindful of the places you eat at and try to find out what they use to prepare your food.
       
    • When in doubt just order salad.
       
    • But most importantly, stay within 2 pounds of your Phase 2 ending weight. If you do go over, make sure to do a Steak Day.

    And remember, losing weight is only half of it -- Maintaining it is where the real work comes in.

    As most of you already know, today is a special day that is usually filled with flowers, candy, and the occasional stuffed animal -- And if you're anything like me you like to take your significant other out to a nice restaurant for dinner.
