The Right Way To Cheat During Thanksgiving

If You Are Going To Cheat On Thanksgiving Day, This Is How You Should Do It...

Now don't let the title fool you, I don't ever recommend that a person cheat during the HCG Diet. But after reading some of the emails and comments that I have been getting lately, I know that some of you are bound to cheat during Thanksgiving.

In fact, just yesterday I opened an email that went something like this...

Hi Brian, I am currently on Phase 2 of the HCG Diet. I have been really good about sticking to the protocol up to this point ... But with Thanksgiving coming up I plan on going off of the diet just for that day. Will this ruin the rest of the diet for me? And what should I do the day after Thanksgiving?

Unfortunately, I can't tell someone what will or will not happen to them if they cheat. There are really no guarantees one way or the other. Even cheating just a little can cause a massive stall in your weight loss.

However, if you must cheat, you might as well lessen the negative impact that it has on your diet. Here are some of the ways that you can try to do that.

The Right Way To Cheat During Thanksgiving

  1. Don't over do it: One of the main things that the HCG Diet is supposed to teach you is how to have a normal relationship with food. Unfortunately going back for seconds and thirds is not the way to do it. So if you must cheat, do it with small portions.

  2. Have a slice of turkey: While my wife and I were on the VLCD we had turkey every once in a while. So eating a little bit during your Thanksgiving dinner shouldn't hurt too bad.

  3. Grab some veggies: You may have noticed that not all vegetables are allowed on the 500 Calorie Diet ... So you may want to take this opportunity to eat some of those delicious veggies. Nobody said that cheating had to be unhealthy.

  4. Eat some forbidden fruits: Much like the veggies not all fruit is allowed on the VLCD ... So if you do cheat you might want to partake in some of your favorite fruits.

  5. Stay away from the potatoes and gravy: I know it's going to be difficult, but this is one of the foods that you should try to steer clear of.

  6. Please, no desert: Now I'm sure that this is probably the main reason that you want to cheat on Thanksgiving, but trust me, loading up on sweets can be a hard thing to bounce back from. So do yourself a favor and resist the temptation.

I'm sure that you already know holding back on Thanksgiving is going to be difficult, but in the end you'll be glad you did.

I just hope that this post doesn't encourage even more of you to cheat.

Do you think you can make it through Thanksgiving without cheating?

As always, I would love to hear what you think - So please be sure to tell me your thoughts in a comment below.
