The Right Way To Eat Your Food On The HCG Diet

Is It Better To Eat Your Food Fast, Or Slow? Big Bites, Or Small?

Eating A Bowl Of Cereal
Well it turns out that after years of your mother telling you to slow down and chew your food, she may have actually been on to something - I know, shocking isn't it!

And although her reasoning for telling you to slow down while eating may have not been the same as ours, it will still benefit you just the same.

So why should you eat slower and chew your food?

Well, there are actually a number of different reasons why chewing your food thoroughly and at a slower pace is beneficial.

For starters, digestion -- Most people aren't aware that food digestion actually begins while the food is still in your mouth, not in your stomach. The saliva in your mouth contains enzymes that contribute to the chemical process of digestion by breaking down food.

It also helps in transporting vitamins and nutrients to your body.

Not only that but it can help reduce the risk of bacterial overgrowth. Because when food is not broken down properly it can cause bacterial overgrowth which can cause indigestion, bloating and even constipation.

What happens if you DON'T chew your food thoroughly and take smaller bites?

You will likely have very poorly digested food, which can lead to things such as heartburn.

It can also lead to one of the worst side effects of all, GAS! Taking bigger bites allows more air to get trapped can cause stomach discomfort, burping and gas.

However, the most important reason to chew your food is that it may actually help you to loose weight.

Studies show that when you eat slower it gives your brain more time to realize when you are full. When you eat bigger bites faster, you consume more food in a shorter amount of time which allows you to over eat.

Keep in mind, when you are trying to lose weight and become healthier, it takes much more than just dieting; it also means that you make changes to your unhealthy eating habits.

Remember, like your mother always said, "Slow Down And Chew Your Food".

Did you know that chewing your food longer could help you to lose weight?

As always, I would love to hear what you think - So please be sure to tell me your thoughts in a comment below.
