Everyone Has At Least One Downfall, Do You Know What Yours Will Be?
As human beings we are all creatures of habit. This means that we usually develop a certain
pattern of routines that stick with us for a long period of time - Sometimes we even develop a pattern that sticks with us for our entire lives.
For some people trying to break these habits after starting the HCG Diet Plan is somewhat hard, if not down right impossible. The sad part is that if you are unable to somehow break yourself of these habits it usually ends up being your downfall.
This is usually where the real work comes in -- Because depending on what your habits are, can determine how hard it may be to break yourself of these vices. It also depends on how long you have been "Hooked".
For example, the biggest vice in the world for me right now would be without a doubt Red Bull -- I absolutely love it. And I am not exaggerating when I tell you that I have spent hundreds of dollars in one single month on this stuff.
But it was so easy to get carried away with it because I felt like I had a valid reason for drinking so much of it. I work a full-time job, have 3 kids that range from 1 to 13 years old, I run HCG 411, our HCG Forum, our Facebook Page and I am also in the process of starting another online business. This means I stay up late and wake up early -- After working all day, I then have soccer games, a baby to entertain, a teenager that tries to outsmart me, meetings with my business partner and in the middle of it all if I'm lucky, I get to spend a little time with Suzy.
So in my mind, all of these tasks and duties give me more than one valid excuse to go waaaay overboard with my all time favorite energy drink. But of coarse I also know that it can be very unhealthy for me in more ways than one.
However, even with the health risks and warnings, this is never usually enough to stop us initially, is it?!?
So that is why when you have these habits that you know are unhealthy, but you continue to do them anyway, your habits can end up sabotaging your HCG Diet Journey.
On other hand, if you follow a few simple tips, you will be a lot more likely to overcome the obstacles that threaten your weight loss success.
How To Avoid Sabotaging Your Own HCG Weight Loss:
1. Slowly Give Up Your Vice: If you know that one of your habits is going to be a problem for you to stop cold turkey when you begin using the HCG Diet, start using it less less until you get to the point of almost not using it at all. This way it will be less of an issue for you once you start the HCG Program. Otherwise you may be harder than you anticipate when the time comes to give it up.
2. Eliminate The Threat: If it's a particular food or possibly a soda pop that you fee like you just can't say no to, try to eliminate it from your life altogether. Clean out your fridge, stop buying it and if your attachment is real bad, don't even walk down that isle at the store.
3. Try To Replace Your Old Habit With Something Positive: If your habit is eating an entire bag of chips everyday, paint a picture or go on a walk every time you start thinking about it. This way you will eventually replace the act and the thought with something positive.
4. Work On One Thing At A Time: If you have more that one habit that you need to stop, work on getting over just one of them at a time. Otherwise you are likely to feel overwhelmed and you may end up throwing in the towel.
5. Do Phase 1 Before Starting The HCG Diet: Phase 1 recommends that you do a cleanse which will help you to detox and clean out your system. Not to mention that it will give you a little more time before starting the actual HCG Diet. And that will allow you to put some time and distance between you and your habit.
Trust me, I know how hard it is to overcome a bad habit; I quit smoking almost 2 years ago and it was rough; and every now and again it still is. But I think that quitting smoking only made me stronger when it came to giving up Red Bull. Because at that point I knew that if I could stop smoking 1/2 pack of cigarettes per day, then I definitely could stop pounding energy drinks by the dozen.
Of coarse I do know that some habits are harder to break than others. But for the most part a habit is a habit. Sometimes the most difficult part is just convincing yourself that you don't need it anymore. Humans are a crazy species, because even if we know something is not good for us, or it can do us harm, it can sometimes take everything we have to not use it anymore.
The good news is that once you do convince yourself that you can live without your vice, it suddenly becomes that much easier to say goodbye to it.
