HCG Diet Vegetable Serving Size

Commonly Asked Question: What Is The Serving Amount Of Vegetables For The 500 Calorie Diet?

HCG Vegetables
Isn't it great how specific the HCG Diet Menu is -- It explains everything from what to eat all the way down to how your protein should be cooked; it leaves very little room for error.

Honestly, when people dedicate such a significant amount of time and effort into a diet such as this, they want to know exactly what to do and how to do it. So it really is comforting to know that Dr. Simeons' HCG Protocol has it all completely laid out for you ... Right?!?

Well, maybe it is missing just a few things here and there.

I couldn't help but notice that the good Doctor left out one pretty important detail, the serving amount for your HCG Veggies -- And it seems that I am not alone. Every now and then I will receive an email or a comment asking what my thoughts are about this to

So, What Is The Proper Amount Of Vegetables To Eat On The HCG Diet?

For the most part, aside from Beet-Greens, Chard, Lettuce and Spinach which is about 3 cups for each one, you could eat about 1 cup of any other veggie and that would be fine.

But if you want to be more specific, I have put together a more precise list of how much of each vegetable you can have.

  • Asparagus: 6 or 7 medium spears
  • Beet-Greens: 3 cups
  • Cabbage: 1 cup
  • Celery: 1 1/2 cups
  • Chard: 3 cups
  • Chicory: 3/4 cup
  • Cucumber: 1 small cucumber
  • Fennel: 1 cup
  • Lettuce: 3 cups green
  • Onion: 1/2 cup
  • Red Radishes: 1 cup sliced
  • Spinach: 3 cups
  • Tomatoes: 1 medium Tomato

Hopefully this will make your HCG Meal planning a bit easier.

NOTE: I know the protocol says not to mix your veggies -- But, I have been researching this rule for awhile now and even personally mixed veggies myself, and to this day I have found nothing that would lead me to believe that it would cause you to stall or have any other negative experience with the HCG Diet. So if you're a rebel like me, you can simply adjust the amount if you wanted to put together a tasty soup recipe or possibly a nice green salad.

Is the list above more or less than you thought was allowed for the HCG Diet Menu?
